The Strand Performance Group is a non-union, resident, acting troupe that performs theatrical productions at the Hackettstown Center for the Arts. The intimate, black-box venue allows the audience to experience a wide variety of productions up close and in person. Auditions OPEN CALL: No Auditions at this time. In production. Hackettstown Center for the Arts 181 Main Street Hackettstown, NJ 07840 Material selected, rehearsed and performed is determined by the number of actors selected at Audition. Auditions are open to all persons regardless of age, color, national origin, citizenship status, physical or mental disability, race, religion, creed, gender, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, status as a disabled veteran and/or Veteran of the Vietnam Era, genetic information or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law. While we will always accept resumes and headshots emailed to us, no part will be cast without an audition in person, either by Open Casting Call or Appointment. Follow the directions for each play. CRITERIA The Director will select actors based on cold readings, sides, stage presence, projection, interpretation, talent and how well they fit the characters being cast. Enthusiasm and team work over experience is always welcomed. Do not underestimate your ability! MISCELLANEOUS The casts are typically small. The plays are NON-UNION. No pay. However, gas and food stipends are traditionally issued as well as a fun cast party and great family atmosphere! REHEARSALS We are all busy. Fact of life. You are auditioning with the stipulation that you know your life is going to get just a little bit more complicated for a couple of months to produce an amazing artistic production for the public that you can be proud about! Rehearsals are held at the Hackettstown Center for the Arts. Shows are usually only one weekend: Fri and Saturday evening and one Sunday matinée show. Public response has always been favorable and we usually add additional shows where feasible. ACCESS NJ Transit does not have train service to Hackettstown on the weekends.
